Hind Albalawi

Research Assistant

I am a research assistant at OVG in pre-clinical vaccine development, particularly in alphavirus research. I perform serology-based studies for Chikungunya and Mayaro viruses, including virus culturing, neutralization assays, and pseudotype virus generation.

Previously, I worked on serology-based research for MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, where I gained expertise in virology and immunology. I conducted experiments in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) environment, performing virus culture, neutralization assays, and ELISA.

I hold an MSc in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manchester and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Leeds Beckett University. My research interests include viral vaccinology, immune responses, and biosafety practices in high-containment laboratories.
