Preclinical Development

Learn more about the work and capabilities of the OVG Preclinical team.

There is an active preclinical team who conduct immunogenicity testing and exploratory research underpinning innovative vaccine development. We routinely address fundamental questions in the field using experimental models, which include delineating long-lived immunity after vaccination, mucosal resident immunity, correlates of protection, and alternate routes of immunisation including prime-pull regimens. Multiple studies have been conducted which have been paired with innovative systems biology and ‘omic analysis thus facilitating a step-change in vaccine development.

The preclinical team also supports the fundamental work needed to progress vaccines from bench to bedside and a number of vaccines which started in the lab have progressed into both early and late stage clinical development. We continue to work with global collaborators to enable this development pipeline.
